Grimsel Training Centre: Engineered Barrier Systems (EBS) – BENTONITE properties and applications
6th September 2021 to 10th September 2021
The Grimsel Training Centre announces its 2021 course on “Engineered Barrier Systems (EBS) – BENTONITE properties and applications (with some focus on gases in the EBS)”, which is being held over 5 days in September 2021.
This course aims to provide an opportunity to exchange key information and ideas on clay barrier research in order to support engineering designs. Key physiochemical, geochemical and hydromechanical properties, as well as relevant analytical techniques and conceptual models, will be introduced. The course includes on-site discussion of the large-scale experiments at the Grimsel Test Site (GTS) studying and demonstrating the performance of bentonite materials.
Further details are available on the Grimsel Training Centre website.
