THERAMIN newsletter 2 published and two events announced

The THERAMIN project on thermal waste treatment has the following news:
- The second newsletter has just been published, which provides an update on activities in Work Packages 2, 3 and 4 and links to the Public Deliverables issued in the last 12 months.
- The THERAMIN project is hosting a summer school on thermal treatment of radioactive waste at Le Visiatome Marcoule, Centre CEA Marcoule, France on 12-14 June 2019. Registration is open until 12 April 2019. Information about the school is available here.
- The THERAMIN project conference will be held in Manchester from 4-5 February 2020 – further information about the event is available here.

This research aims to improve understanding of the behaviour of various wastes in geological disposal facilities in order to better quantify the processes controlling radionuclide, chemical and gas release from waste forms, to improve the quality of models used in safety assessments and to adequately define the types and magnitudes of uncertainties associated with various processes.
