The proposed themes of the sessions are:

1. Radionuclide interactions with bacteria
2. Microbially induced organic waste matrix degradation and gas generation
3. Microbially induced corrosion of metal canisters
4. Microbially induced clay and concrete degradation (including diversity and activity)
5. Microbial processes in the deep biosphere that could have implications for safety assessment (SA)/performance assessment (PA)
