Abstract submission and registration for the symposium are now open!  Further information and registration is available at: https://decovalex-coupled-processes-symposium.org/

The symposium, entitled “DECOVALEX Symposium on Coupled Processes in Radioactive Waste Disposal and Subsurface Engineering Applications”, will bring together about 150 participants discussing aspects of coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical-chemical (THMC) processes in geological systems.

As the title indicates, the focus is on new and exciting advances in areas of coupled processes associated with a broad range of subsurface engineering, starting with radioactive waste disposal and extending to geothermal exploration, geological carbon sequestration, energy storage, oil and gas production. The symposium will also provide insights from the current phase of the DECOVALEX project (https://decovalex.org/), an international collaboration for advancing the understanding of coupled THMC processes in geological systems. Confirmed keynote speakers are Lyesse Laloui from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, EPFL, in Lausanne, Switzerland and Frédéric Plas, Head of Research and Development at Andra, the French nuclear waste management organisation.

Brugg by the way is a small city known for its historic center developed along a narrow gorge of the River Aare, conveniently located only about 28 kilometers from Zürich and easily reached by public transport.

Abstract submission and registration are now open.  Abstract submission will remain open until 7 June 2019.

The registration fee will be $260 before 11 August 2019 and $310 thereafter.
